    Hi,
I've just hit Platinum x2 for the year (and that's after 3months since anniversary). So I have my Partner Gold etc.

My question is - where to from here? There appears to be nothing left for me flying with Qantas.

I project I will do c. 6x Platinum this year, domestic alone. I fly less frequently on International.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can expect, or reasonably request from Qantas?

I hear that Virgin Blue are expecting to offer Business Class sometime this year, so I guess I could swap and max them out or something?

    Ideas?

    Paul

Out of interest what is driving such high levels of status credits? A SYD-PER-SYD in Business would generate 160SCs - so to be WP twice over would require about 15 such trips - in three months that is some mamoth flying domestically.

In terms of what more can you expected... do you have Lifetime Gold/Silver as yet? If you do then have you considered switching to AAdvantage - some better ear
/burn rates but little else to entice you I suspect.

Welcome to AFF . By the sounds of your SC accumulation, you should hit lifetime Silver very quickly (7,000 SC), and then lifetime Gold (14,000 SC). LTG is the holy grail really, with nothing to achieve after that in terms of status. Of course, the other consideration is the points you are accumulating, though with the amount of flying you are obviously doing you probably don't have a chance to use them for holidays . You must be flying J already to accumulate SC so quickly, so using points for upgrades on domestic is not an option. Probably the best use is for upgrading on the few international flights you do, flying in F is so nice .

Anyway, not knowing what to do with all the SC/points is a nice problem to have .

There is no point at all in continuing to use QF for points earning once you have reached Partner Gold. If you will continue to earn at a similar rate in future years, then no point in rushing to Lifetime Gold either (unless you believe that benefit may be "enhanced" before you get there).

You might as well put the flights towards a program that offers much better value for points/miles, and in the OneWorld scheme of things, that is definitely AA. Use your QF status for seating preferences, lounge access, and upgrade waitlists, while using AA to accumulate miles quickly and for better redemption value. And at the rate you mention, you will attain AA Exec Platinum as well as QF Partner Gold status, and reap the benefits of AA's top tier including 8 system wide eVIP upgrades.
