    Hi,

I have some CX fligths that i was thinking of crediting to QF since i want the SC's but would it be better to credit to AA ?

Also is there anybody i can credit the CX numbered Dragon Air fligths to ? (Since from my understanding they wont credit to QF)

Cant tell the fare basis for the CX flights , it just says fare basis CWCXPASS but its an economy fare ???

Most cheap CX flights will not credit to AA. Only H B and Y are eligible in Economy. It's one of the lurks with crediting to AA. (But most Business and First flights will credit)

While the information is not explicit, I believe CX flights operated by DragonAir are not eligible either (either with Qantas or AA).

I have the feeling that your ticket may be a CX Asia Passport. That books into L class. But that is just a quick guess and not validated by anything concrete. Is it a multiple stop in Asia type of ticket?

Yes, multi stop around Asia of sorts Leaving saturday.

    MEL-HKG CX134
    HKG-PVG CX6868 (DragonAir)
    ... 1 week
    PVG-HKG CX6845 (DragonAir)
    HKG-SIN CX735
    ... A few weeks... TBD
    SIN-HKG CX716
    HKG-MEL CX105

May not end up taking the last couple of flights but its 90day changeable so may be able to make it fit somewhere in my travels.
Some time end May / begining of June i will also be back in China on some flights... maybe not CX though. Probably DragonAir booked direct.

L pays 50% on QF so maybe thats the go. May get lucky and the DragonAir flights could even credit as well.

Evan, where in Shanghai will you be? I am up there next week - was meant to be leaving Sunday but customs at Pudong airport have misplaced some components that I need on site before I leave, so will now probably leave on Tuesday 24th.

I will be in the Minhang area, about 30 km south of the downtown area.

The so called "Venice of the East". Visited there on a trip to Shanghai a few years ago. A change of scenery from Shanghai.

    Enjoy your trip.

I had a CX business class flight BKK-SIN today and I credited to QF. I need all the SC's to maintain Gold and possibly attain Platinum.

Based on current flying patterns I would have no hope of AA Exp.

Pretty much same situation as you, the Dragon Air flights , well i guess we just see what happens.
Still i prefer to be flying a single ticket CX than and SQ/Dragon air 2 ticket situation. And CX is quiet nice IMHO, what did you think ?

CX is very nice. Even in their regional planes (like BNE-HKG or some of the intra Asia flights)

Beats Qantas any day! (Except when I want that Australian honesty/smile/mannerisms and chit chat I get when I fly with Qantas home)

I actually fly CX because its the only OW choice that can reasonably do SIN-PVG but have also used then MEL-HKG-KIX and really found them good.

As you say its nice to fly QF home
