Travel class codes?

Can one of the gurus please point me to a link that lists all the class of travel code letters and what they signify? I presume codes such as J, Y, etc. are universal to all airlines, but do the restricted types (eg. D) also have a common universal basis?

As a DONEx user, I've always booked well ahead and seemed to have almost always got the flights I wanted. However, I've been curious as to what restrictions apply to that class and how easy it is to get D class flights at short notice.

Is there any way of checking ahead for the availability of different fare classes for QF (and other airlines, especially OneWorld) on line?

Your presumption isnt exactly right. Not all airlines use F for unrestricted First ( have seen P used for example ) and C is used by some for unrestricted business for example. Within OW , there is some consistency about the booking classes

The easy way to check for availability by class is using a tool such as Expert Flyer ( offered at a 15% discount to Gold AFF members )

Re: Travel class codes?

Thanks, Dave.

Is there a listing that you know of on the QF web site of their version of all class designator letters? I searched, but couldn't locate anything.

What's a Gold AFF member?
