Best is very subjective. Are you looking for:What class of travel?
- lowest cost
- fastest flight time
- most comfortable
- maximum FF earning

Before I go and hassle my travel agent... what would be the best routing on a one world airline to go from PER-DEN arriving in DEN on (or around) July 8, and flying back to PER July 14/15. Price will be important.
Edit: if flying discount economy.. this wouldn't be enough to complete an AA challenge would it? Or does it not matter if you're disc. econ vs D/J class?

Lowest cost with good FF earning (ie. if I can complete the AA Plat challenge I will...), otherwise I'm currently a QP PS, with 350 SC to go (so wouldn't make it to SG on this trip anyway..).
Best being price?... tough to beat $3500 with QF Y… we on the east coast can often risk great connections via HNL, but by the time you take a QF transcon, better to stay the distance with them. (You guys really need some better competition out of Perth, before prices will drop!)
Perhaps, given that pricing [$3500], if status chasing is relevant – the good ol’ xONE4!
(NM, in a post many months ago, convinced me of the 2xpoints QFF value of WP, or if you have time in the US, bounce across the states on a challenge!)
I had considered a LONE4.. now to just work out routing, and what it will cost![]()
LONE4 is not going to be a low-cost option.
For cheapest option with good QF FF points earning, try JQ to HNL and then a YUP/KUP fare on AA to DEN.
For cheapest OneWorld option look for the QF/AA deal via NRT. But its not great for either AA or QF FF earning.
You could easily complete the AA Plat challenge by booking the AA codeshare on QF trans-Pacific flight and connecting with AA flights to DEN via DFW.

Ok... but how would I do that from PER, and what would it cost? I'm getting very confused![]()
Let's see:
PER-SYD $540 return (MEL $530).
SYD/MEL-HNL ~$1800 return.
HNL-LAX-DEN & return USD1860 on a YUP (480 QF SC's, 10,215 AA qpoints)
HNL-LAX-DFW-DEN & return USD1860 on a YUP (720 QF QC's, 13,305 AA Qpoints)
Do the same routes in WHY (O class) for USD825 for 0 QFF SC's and 3405/4435 AA qpoints.
(Note that it's almost peak season Mid June-Mid Jul, depart on 18th July and your Oz-HNL fare is $400 less.)

Would the SYD-HNL be *C?Originally Posted by serfty
Edit: for $1800, looks like JetFlex.
