I would appreciate it if someone could please clear up the baggage situation with Korean Air. I have rung them up but the communication barriers have made it quite confusing in the end.
This problem arises mainly because the limits are only made clear for sectors flown within the 'Americas.'
With carry on, I understand that there may be one piece at 115cm, weighing either a max. of 10 or 12kg (I was told 10 on the phone, but website says 12).
Checked luggage is much more confusing. I was told that there may be a maximum of 20kg altogether BUT that the TOTAL dimensions of ALL bags may only be 158cm. Realistically, 158cm is only the dimension of one bag. Is this correct or was that supposed to be per piece?
Any help is appreciated.

Looking at the details on their site, the total allowance is 20Kg unless going to the Americas. There is no size limit mentioned for the pieces
The piece size restrictions relate to routes where the piece system applied

Well yes I did have a look at the website, but it is quite unclear there and some of the information given disagress with what I was told on the phone.
The main thing I'm unsure about and why I made this thread is the total dimensions of the checked baggage. The website has a very detailed description about baggage going to the Americas but virtually nothing for all other destinations. The website specifies no dimension limit, but from what I understood, the person on the phone said that 158cm is the limit as the total dimensions of all baggage for flights not classifying as flying to/from the Americas.
It looks like I may have to ring up the office again to clarify?
The website is more likely to be accurate than a phone agent, plus the allowance as listed on the site is as would be normally expected

Thanks, I'll worry only about the weight then, not the dimensions.
