Indian Business Visa - how much of my passport will I lose?

Hi all
I am a UK citizen (just in case people didn't know) and will be travelling in late Sep to India and in all likelihood will be back and forth there over the next twelve months.
The visa application looks pretty easy but I am just wondering if the Indian Visa will take up a full page like the Chinese visa?
My UK passport only has about 6 blank pages left and I am likely to need to a Chinese business visa as well so I am just looking at whether I am going to need to get a new passport soon. This should change in 2009 as I am planning to get Oz citizenship on Australia day (assuming the stars align etc.)
Cheers
S

I would get a new passport now since you may wish to use the UK passport for some places even with an Australian passport , especially if you can get your company to fund this business expense

Have you applied for a citizenship ceremony for January since it is quite hard to get Australia Day ceremonies

I have yet to put in my application - I passed the test just before I went overseas. I plan to do the application this week.

I will be renewing my UK passport but may not be able to do it before India as I am going to the US in 4 weeks and I am not convinced I could get a new UK passport back in time.

@luckydog - thanks for that, although I wish you were wrong

I have a UK passport too and I can confirm that the Indian visa does indeed take a whole page.

Cheers

Out of interest what is the better passport to use to enter India - Irish or Australian? A colleague is just debating.

Re: Indian Business Visa - how much of my passport will I lose?

I don't know many visas that take less than one page.

USA - Full page
Russia - Full page
China - Full page
Czech Rep - Full page
India - Full page

Actually for visas that require the passport to be sent away i would expect something interesting and colorful.

As if India bureaucracy would let six empty pages leave unfilled. They LOVE a stamp.

I would not think it should make much difference at all.

Neither do I but they have been tol "it is better to use your irish passport".

I would have thought as part of the commonwealth that Aussie would be better than Irish if there was a margin call.

I would use whichever had more space

How can one be "better" than the other? Both will need to be processed in the exact same manner. The passenger will use the same queue. The stamp will be the same. Any inquisition is likely to include the same questions.
