Hi All.
My sister-in-law, who works in Dubai, recently visited us in Brisbane and when she departed she left behind the power supply (lead and transformer) for her laptop.
Is there anyone going to, or stopping over in, Dubai over the next week or so who would be prepared to carry this across for her? She works quite near the airport so pick up should be fairly easy.
... I agree, but a power cord ?Err...no offence...and please do not take this the wrong way.....but anyone carrying stuff internationally for someone that they do not know REALLY really well is taking a HUGE risk...
Why don't you send it by post?
That's Plan B, but (a) slow, (b) not so reliable at the Dubai end, and (c) expensive, as its a bulky sort of item in postal terms. Why don't you send it by post?

Or another option, list what type of power adapter it is (which computer, what model and the power capacity of it) and maybe someone can take there's over there and leave it with her, and exchange for your onw when they return here..
Best excuse to not do any work on that long return flight..
Your OP stated "she left behind the power supply (lead and transformer) "
......and after having watched a few episodes of Border Security (which of course qualifies me as an instant expert!!!!!!!)...it is amazing how valuable a drug haul can be hidden in an object of that size...not to mention other items such as diamonds...all of which have been featured on the show.
It has also been quite educational on the endless array of items that have contained "items of interest"...envelopes, tooth paste tubes, shampoo bottles, cans, walking frames, bags, books, magazines, shoes etc etc..
Out of curioisty in Dubia what is the minimum trafficable mass for a drug such as crack, heroin or cocaine...or even a few ecstasy tablets?
And how go the penalties?? I presume harsh?
Now I am all for doing favours...but I would never risk one such as you are asking.
I wouldn't help with a power lead and transfomer however if you asked me transport some cash - I would likely accept![]()
wink wink and a wonderful spending spree for Christmas
