    Air France Long Haul J

Hi, I am sure someone here will have the experience I am seeking. I am flying to Paris in late April and am booked on QF9/10 to/from MEL-SIN and on a QF code share with Air France to/from SIN-CDG, all in J on a 777-300ER. The Air France website has very little detail on their seating etc, but do say they have lie-flat beds in J. SeatGuru shows it is a standard J style layout, rather than the herringbone style of CX, and says my allocated seats (8b/10b) are standard. SeatExpert doesn't list AF aircraft.

Can anyone tell me what the J experience is like on AF long-haul?

Also, from my reading of the QFF T&C, I assume having a QF flight no. ensures I get full points (including status bonus) and SCs?

Any thoughts would be appreciated .

I cant tell you first hand, though I have had some good report of late.

The 2 websites i'd refer you too would be Airline Reviews, Airport Reviews, Flight Reviews, Seat Reviews and SKYTRAX Airline and Airport Star Ranking for reviews and Airline Seating Charts, Best Airplane Seats - SeatGuru for seat info

Thanks TG. The reviews on Skytrax did not fill me with confidence, but I did a cross check on Qantas (which I know very well) and the reviews there are similar, so I guess I know what to expect. Lie-flat is actually on a slope (as per QF), but main issues seem to be length (pity, as I am over 6') and lack of storage space (which always bothers me, but I can get over it).

At least I get to experience a new airline. I will make some comment on the experience when I return, as there is not a lot of AF info here on AFF.

My father flew AF J about 18 months ago on that same route (MEL_SIN on QF, AF to CDG)

Given he travels in F a lot, mostly on QF or other oneworld (BA and CX mostly), he said it was "ok, not as good as Qantas".

I think if it's a decent price, it's still worth doing - for the same reason he did - straight into CDG rather than a LHR transit.

Thanks. Price must be okay, as our company's TA has booked it, and I wholly concur, straight into CDG is much better than routing via LHR.

A number of my colleagues (I work for a french company, and there's always people backwards and forwards to Paris) have done that route, and have had no problems.

The main comments have been that the equipment has been pretty good, but the service a little cold.

That's easy to fix... turn up the heat, and the service will improve accordingly
