AA CX or QF in J

I am flying to the US next month from PER to LAX, and have several options for the long segment.

PER-NRT-LAX on AA
PER-HKG-LAX on CX
PER-SYD-LAX on QF

I was curious what people here thought of the comparison of the J product on the segement into LAX of the 3 carriers. Mainly whether AA is as bad as people tend to portray it?

AA J is not bad

I think that the new J seats are better than the QF Skybeds and I find that AA can do a better meal service than QF in J

Me, I'd be happy with either (They are very similar, perhaps the AA environment seems a bit more cluttered).

Surely their long haul stuff would be better than the short haul? Like QF, I am positive it's better...

Re: AA CX or QF in J

I would go QF for superior catering, wines, service and seating. But that's just me.

edit: unless of course you have the option of EVIPing into AA F.

Re: AA CX or QF in J

Out of those options I would be looking for the most convenient travel times. All should be comfortable and provide flat (sloping) beds. QF and AA will arrive into LAX T4, while CX arrives into TBIT. I have a slight preference for T4 arrivals, but its not a critical thing. All can be hit or miss on the service front in the J cabin.

If you have access to F lounges (OneWorld Emerald status) then SYD (QF), HKG (CX) and NRT (JL) all have very good facilities. J lounge is probably best in HKG.
