As you are probably aware, Altitude points convert to QF at 2 Altitude: 1 QF. So even the 2 points from Westpac AMEX converts only to 1 QF point. I personally believe that if you do not want to get a Platinum card (CBA, HSBC or Citibank), then get a good AMEX card (direct from AMEX) and a cheap visa or master (a standard card that charges low fees with or without rewards). Now, I find AMEX's acceptance have significantly grown and I use CPA AMEX (no fees what so ever even for the companion card ) as my primary card. I do not pay fees for my WP Altitude as I have a mortgage package with them, but use it very rarely).

Might have to speak with CBA and see if they will abolish the fee for the Platinum card considering I have a mortgage and investment loan with them. I would have to transfer my altitude points to FF first and or use them up for myer certificates i think.

Good luck If you manage to get a free Plat card please lets us all know so we are able to apply the same pressure. I'm having a few prob's at the moment between what they offered and what they now want to apply.

No. Altitude Amex earns points in Altitude rewards, and Earth/Earth+ (or Earth Gold from next week), earn QFF points. None credit to Membership Rewards,
