Point calculation

Does anyone know how Altitude calculates the point needed for flight redemptions? What is the formula of points per $ cost of the flight?

How does that compare to other programs such as Velocity?

I wonder if some bump up the taxes and charges more than others?

Thanks
Chris

Re: Point calculation

Sorry I cannot help you as they have changed the calculations since I worked on the project.
They used to be quite good value, considering you could get any ticket not just award availability however that seems to have changed where the redemption costs seem quite high compared to QFF.
What I would not reccommend is the Points plus pay option as the discount is not too much especially flying short domestic hops eg. SYD-MEL is cheaper on internet bookings via the airlines direct.
