Re: Any Westpac card with rental car excess protection?

ANZ have a product that will reduce an excess of $2000 and below to $350 for $24 a year for any of their CC holders, it is quite easy to go to Hertz/Avis etc and negotiate a rate that has a $2K excess as standard, often saving $5-10 off the daily rate, so it would not take long to recover the $24!

Re: Any Westpac card with rental car excess protection?

Westpac Platinum covers rental excess up to $5000 domestically and overseas. Gold only covers overseas.

Make sure you read the PDS

Also, ANZ Cards are available with a $24 pa policy that will cover you up to $2200. Basic gold card has this included.

Re: Any Westpac card with rental car excess protection?

I have used the rental car excess insurance supplied with my visa gold card for a long time.
When I made a claim from Zurich , the actual insurance company , I found that I am only covered for the excess if I rent outside Australia.
Luckily I had the car rental comprehensive insurance already so I am only out of pocket $350 not the $4000 + for a single car accident.
