V Australia Walkthrough
Looks good!
Also it seems Alaskan will be a V partner

Intersting the IFE looks identical to Virgin America's
Hi there
I had an actual walk through at the Australian delivery event today in Sydney.
I was very impressed with the fitout of the aircraft, the seats in all classes are very comfortable even down the back of the 777, but that is mainly because there hasn't been many people on it yet to destroy the cushioning.
Little things like the salt & pepper shakers in J which are shaped in the form of the opera house and the PJ's with the V Australia motif which i was unable to pilfer
It seems that there is a lot of attention to detail has gone into V Australia.
The self serve bar seemed well stocked with various bottles of spirits, which looked like they had been enjoyed by the pax on the ferry flight, and some strange beers, I think they were American boutique beers.
I did take some photo's which didn't come out too good
I'm sure some of the professional photographers will have some shots around the various aviation websites soon.
Cheers

Doesn't look all the flash to me from the the VA website. J does not look all that inviting, probably at best similar to QF Prem Econ. If the fares are the right price, it may look more attractive! J class on VS is very different and looks and feels more like a premium cabin. Only time will tell. Happy to have competition on the route, but up the front is where it may struggle unless the price is right.
... nor in the middle of 5 in WHY ...
oops - it's an optical illusion.
The third picture in post #4 seems to show 5 across (it doesn't help having to horizontal scroll to see it properly).

Some more from another site...

I didnt realise they'd gone 2/5/2.
See, I like 2/5/2. The plane (well, Y) needs to be >89% full to have this seat filled along each row. Which means 89% DONT have to climb over.
And couples get a 2 together and dont have to climb over any strangers (which they would in a 3/3/3 config).
EDIT: Pics show 3 blocks. What were you referring to serfty?
I doubt that would happen very often to a solo traveller. QF are very good at ensuring solo travellers are not placed in the E seats in business class on the lower deck of the 747. In my experience, the E seats go to passengers travelling in a group so are adjacent to their travelling party in the D and/or F seats. I would expect VA will undertake similar efforts when allocating seats. But there is always the slight chance that it won't work to plan and someone may get stuck in the middle seat with unknown neighbours.
I actually prefer QF's D and F seats on the 744 lower deck since there is a reasonable chance the E seats may be unoccupied and on every occasion when it has been occupied the E passenger has been travelling with the other aisle passenger and has 100% of the time climbed into the aisle over their partner and not over me. So I have had great success in ensuring no climb over on such a seating configuration (unlike window block and upper deck).
So I don't see a 2x3x2 config in J as being all bad. It actually works better for travelling parties than the herringbone config. The herringbone config is god for solo passengers.
