PF or BS?

Hi all, i am jsut wondering as im about to book something for the 28th - is it worth the extra benefits getting a Promo Fare instead of a blue saver? i.e. extra sc's or anything else or do i save the money and spend it on strengthening my left arm?

Re: PF or BS?

I don't think there is any real difference.

I believe both have the same change fees and inflexibility. I don't really know all the DJ fare types intimately though.

The points are a fixed number per $ spent, so no real difference there.

Virgin Blue > Fare Types gives you all the details you should need to make a decision.

I don't believe the fare rules for promo fares and blue saver fares are any different, so it all depends on whether the fare difference is worth the extra velocity points and SC's.

In most cases on DJ, when there are both promo fares and blue savers available, the fare difference between the two is nominal, so I would suggest that the blue saver wouldnt be worth the small difference in velocity points.

Then again, it all depends on your situation and the fare difference between the two on the flights you're looking at. If you're chasing DJ silver then maybe the blue savers or even the flexi fares would be the right call.

Re: PF or BS?

Technically, i am going for silver but as im trying to get Silver on QF i've left DJ in the dark till it came in handy i.e. when its $150 cheaper! Having said that if i can get Silver early i might try for DJ silver...
