I wrote a little note to DJ customer service about an incident on my flight to Cairns for the FlyerTalk do, where I got dousted with Jim Bean by one of the flight attendants collecting rubish.

About a month later, today, I got an e-mail explaining that this is not how they do business and was offered $65 credit for a future flight.

I thought that was a nice gesture and want to give credit where credit is due, so thanks Virgin Blue!

PS. I don't make it a habbit to whine to their customer service about things that I find problematic on my flights, but I have to say that before coming to Australia it was suggested that our (US) customer service was awful... from what I've experienced so far, nothing could be further from the truth... (at least compared to JetBlue) either way, I am really enjoying my flying around OZ.

The same thing happened to me on a flight to BNE last year. Although, as I was just explaining it here, mine was more due to the fact that the poor hostie had no idea and I thought I'd rescue her from spilling it on me, needless to say, that was a bad idea!

I didn't even think about letting them know - not for compensation, just for feedback. Just the same as I'd want to know what was happening out there on the street for my business.
