wow... someone is desperate to put bums on seats.... hope they are going ok?
but whoever can take advantage of the special will be laughing!
But Dave, after all the hype you guys have put out, how could that be?
I might kindly suggest that if you had a decent FF program a lot more people (like me) might fly your airline.
Until then, well maybe, no. If I fly to LAX and back on UA, I get 30,000 miles credited (a US domestic return flight plus a bit more).
If I fly V Australia, what do I get? There you have it in a nutshell...
Thanks Dave. We're off (via Sydney, uugh) Sunday week. So far the February skiers have posted great reviews, and I'm looking forward to Melb-LA next January.
Seems like the airline may go belly up quite soon.
It's a little unfair to quote your earning rate at PE or 1K rates - you'd get bonuses flying DJ/VA etc as well if you were elite.
I mean - who'd want to fly on UA unless they got a better FF program? If I fly SYD/LAX/SYD I get ~30k QFF points, enough for a domestic return flight. If I flew on UA, I'd get ~15k miles (well, actually I'm PE so I'd get more, but let's look at the average Aussie here), which I can redeem for exactly nothing here in Aus. Even in the US ~15k miles doesn't get me anything on UA. A standard return FF ticket is 50k miles IIRC.
