missing points emirates

Hi all
First time user here, hope you can help/advise.
Am having trouble getting points from emirate (melbourne to UK for husband and me) in Nov /Dec 2005 credited . Contacted united in november 2006 -prior to 12 months being up , and was advised that as we did not have all he boarding passes to send in to send instead a copy of receipt from travel agent for ticket and a covering letter to PO box in Sydney and that that would be sufficient to fix up. Did this straight away. As I had not heard back rang today and was told by call centre Emirates had knocked back the credit as we had not supplied boarding passes and ticket with our claim-and that it was too late now for points to be credited even if we supplied the original ticket plus what boarding passes we have .
Realise should not have left to last minute but time goes by so quickly and was lodged within the 12 months.
Have been told by the call centre there is no point writing to Sydney again, there was none further I could speak to at the call centre , and that I would have to take further with United Custmer relations in Chicago .
I would really appreciate any advice ? is the boulder city site the way to go -am happy to ring if I have to - (am going to take this as far s I can -)
Kind Regards
Sue

Hi Sue, nice to hear from you.

Emirates (EK) are notoriously difficult to get Mileage Plus miles out of. I flew business class on EK last year and it took me 6 months to get the mileage credit posted to my MP account even after I had supplied all the required documentation. I am a 1K member of Mileage Plus, so I do have a little status, and I can also understand your frustration

My view is that since you made the request for credit within the 12-month window, you are quite within your rights to follow it up with United,

I agree that you should write to Mileage Plus in Rapid City, South Dakota (check the ual.com website for full details), and send them as much detail as you can. I would also suggest that you send a nice letter to Glenn Tilton in Chicago, asking if he could possibly help.

This might get you the missing miles, but don't bet your house on it.

Re: missing points emirates

Thank you so much for your suggestions -I will follow up on both -I appreciate being pointed to a person in Chicago who may be able to help as well . I think the thing that has made me so cross is the complete lack of professionlism and lack of follow through by both united and emirates re my various calls, visits and correspondence. As I said, I have the bit between my teeth now and will follow this through as much as possible. I have read some of the other posts, and wonder how many people have just given up out of sheer frustration, -not just re United but other partner programs with other airlines, its a wonder there hasn't been some sort of legal action by now around all these "robbed" points . Anyway thanks again for your time -I will let you know how it goes-I'm still optimistic !
Kind regards
Sue

I am sure he'll drop everything to assist in such a crisis.

Re: missing points emirates

For goodness sakes - a short note to RAPPW2@united.com with all your details would have likely rectified this ages back.

Leaving it a year after flights is of course your issue, and losing the boarding passes the other. THAT bit is where you came unstuck IMHO.

If you get them in a GENEROUS mood you may be OK, but time marches on.

Well Glen,

It's not what I would have done either, being MP MM, but one has to have a little lattitude, I believe.

As for writing to Glenn Tilton, it's not as silly as you make out, because one of his minions would likely action it (in some way).

I thought RAPPW2@united.com went the way of the dinosaurs some way back. I'd be interested to see if you could prove me wrong.

Keep smilin'

Is a response 2 days back proof enough for you?

Dont believe all you read about dinosaurs.
