I just made Premier on UA (Jul. 07) and I was wondering how long this status holds? Will I go back to general member as of Jan. 1st? Or will I be premier all next year and have to make 25K miles again?

You will keep that status, or a higher one if you qualify by Dec 31 07, until Jan/Feb 09.
