SYS-PER 27 Oct 06 QF - Boeing 747

Well an interesting trip on a 747 fom Sydney to Perth last night. (Stuck in Y unfortunately)

It was the 'City of Mildura' - was spacious as only about 60% full. Is it even possible to run a 747 at 60% capacity and make a return for QF?

Enjoyed the (thankfully working) IFE. Selction of movies etc made the 4 hours fly by.

The only letdown once again was only a set of stairs at Perth Airport. When are these clowns going to get their act together? You can't have an up-and-coming "international" standard airport where you have passengers running all over the tarmac.

Back tonight but, alas, only a 737.

Edit: Speeling

Considering what the pax in J are paying, I am sure that the flights at least break-even. Besides, it's swings and roundabouts, I imagine that the chock-a-block peak-hour flights more than make up for a few quiet trips.

Isn't it good to know that Qantas have leased that terminal for only another twelve years. I agree, the Qantas terminal needs an expansion (or build a new one next to the international terminal which is what is in the grand plan)
