1st ever trip report

MEL --> BNE on QF with Mrs docjames.

Arrived early for checkin, travelling on Y tickets so moved to earlier flight. Helped to be checking with a CL member so moved flights, go exit row when requested, then off to CL.

B'fast there - cereal, pastry, coffee. Delightful.

Boarded - arrived at gate to be last on plane. Our seats were being sat-in. Couple had moved back one row back, obviously thinking the seats were left empty. And wanting leg room. Asked if we minded swapping - of course! Right. So swap back happens. Anyway, by some miracle, there was remaining overhead locker room as we had max carry-on and i've been stuck before boarding late with nowhere to stow bags (esp when exit row!). So all stowed, back from gate EXACTLY on time. Short taxi and away. 737-400 looking and feeling tired i might add.

Inflight service was great - right amount of repsonse from crew, but food was seriously average - muffin or anzac biscuit. Neither were great. Plenty of drinks offered.

Arrived on time, expedite deplaning and away to rental counter.

Becasue of early flight, was about 30mins prior to booked time so got free upgade Corolla --> Fairlane (!). Nice.

We'll see how we go on return leg in a few days time.

Ok, report not as great as some, but you've got to start somewhere!

docjames,

Good report and better than any report that some people put on here. ... myself included.

Note to self alone. Write a trip report one day soon.

Re: 1st ever trip report

Short, to the point, filled with drama and delight - good stuff

Now if only I could keep mine down to less than 30 pages...

straitman your footnote is noted, and I look forward to your TR. But to be honest I don't see any substance in docjames' comments; I certainly don't regard it as a TR (perhaps more of a brag that he/she visited the CL?). Nonetheless as noted, everyone has to start somewhere, and I'd hope it only goes up from here...

An interesting little piece of negativity. Just wondering if you could post a link to your trip reports so aspiring TR writers such as myself could pick up a few pointers.

I'm not a writer either; apologies for the negativity:

Geez, way to encourage me to write another one. We arent all verbose. And i'm not on a DONE4, I'm flying econ MEL --> BNE. How much could there be to write (note to self: take photos next time and look like a real muppett).

And FWIW, I dont really give a stuff whether i (or for that matter, you, or anyone else) visited the CL or not, but it was part of what happened, i wanted to be factual, would you like me to re-tell without mentioning it?

Re: 1st ever trip report

You could have fabricated something - a mad dash across the tarmac being chased by AQIS?
