Following the latest report, from the Irish Air Accident Investigation Unit, the Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary has issued a memo to all pilots warning them they will face demotion the first time they make a dangerous approach and dismissal should they make a second.

What a great way to improve moral!

Invariably the problem in these cases is with (company) procedures rather than with the individuals. This is highlighted by the fact there have been several incidents rather than just one.

It's a bit like saying 'The beating will continue until moral improves!'
