I'm sure a few months ago they were saying that a decision would be made by the end of the year. Now they are saying within six months. Doesn't sound like much progress in their planning.
I don't think I had heard about moving the international site before!
"Nonetheless, locals are highly critical of the facility's failure to cope with the state's growth, particularly the congestion in its terminals and a chronic lack of parking.
Some wonder whether airport management has paid too much attention to the industrial developments on the 2105ha site at the expense of its aviation operations."

Re: Perth Airport
And it won't get better anytime soon!
Friday January 25, 10:01 AMMore passengers for Perth
Passenger numbers at Perth Airport rose by more than 13 percent during the second half of 2007.
There were more than 4.5 million passengers processed at the airport in the six month period, the figure having risen by 539,000 compared to the same period a year earlier.
International passenger growth stood at 16.7 per cent during the period, while domestic passenger growth of 12.1 per cent was recorded.
The increased wealth provided through Western Australia's sustained economic growth is driving business and consumer demand for aviation services, Perth Airport CEO Brad Geatches said.
Airlines have responded by providing more capacity on domestic and international routes, with Qantas, Emirates and Tiger Airlines each adding to the international capacity on Perth routes, he said.
Mr Geatches said the airport's continued growth was strengthening the business case to initiate a major expansion of airport infrastructure. - Travelpress travel news

Improvements to Terminal 2
Work on major upgrades to the Qantas Domestic Terminal (Terminal 2) has started. There will be more check-in space, faster security screening, a bigger departures area, improved Qantas Club and extra baggage reclaim facilities. We apologise for any inconvenience during renovations and thank you for your patience.
Road Network Improvements In the coming weeks work will start to improve the road network around the Domestic Terminals. This will make the flow of traffic more efficient, increase car parking and improve pedestrian safety. More information will be made available through public notices and on our web site.

Says it all really. No business case yet. Hopefully the new federal government will be able to kick WAC into shape or get rid of them and install a competent operator. Not holding my breath.

I can understand their point of view: If they can get away with leaving it long enough, all of the available space will be filled with factories and they won't be able to shift terminals. They will then be able to turn their thoughts to the next grand plan - running cattle between the runways.
