Whilst I don't condone her behaviour, Cx are lucky they are not sued by the passenger for a gross invasion of her privacy.

CATHAY Pacific says it has apologised to a passenger whose hysterical tantrum after missing a flight from Hong Kong has clocked close to five million hits on YouTube.
Cathay said it had identified the member of its staff who took a mobile telephone video of the woman passenger on February 4.

Compensation for her own idiocy?
I think I'm going to throw up. That's stupidity defined, raised to the power of three.
The only part I will concur is that the staff member who videoed the incident on the phone should be counselled.

Not me as I would not want to risk a charge of conspiracy to defraud which would earn lots of ff points in the big house![]()
I would have patted the employee who took the video on the back as his/her actions could be interpreted as protecting the company from a claim from the women that she was treated unfairly in some way. That argument may have stood a chance if he/she had not given it to the joker who put it on You Tube and thus gave the women a major cause for legal action.
Absolutely ridiculous.
However dont go down the complaints pathway with United-
elliott.org | Airline freezes passenger’s mileage account after “disturbing” number of complaints
"Since your Mileage Plus enrollment last year, you have engaged in a number of communications with various United departments. Our employees have attempted to satisfactorily resolve your various issues. Unfortunately, it appears that you have engaged in conduct that causes us great concern.
During this last year, you have contacted us well over 200 times concerning alleged disservice issues. As discussed in my phone conversation with you yesterday, the frequency of your contacts with us is very disturbing in light of the fact that you have only flown with us for the last 6 months.
Accordingly, we have completed a historical review of these contacts and have concluded that a majority appear to be directed toward securing goodwill compensation in the form of entitlements, i.e. certificates and miles for future travel and upgrades. Our review found that although you flew only 24,891 actual miles in 2008, you contacted us to obtain mileage compensation of 68,500 miles, numerous upgrades, and $5,125 in dollar off certificates.
Our review also found that you were provided with significant compensation due to your initiation of contact with us numerous times over the same issues. Quite frankly, much of this compensation was offered without our knowledge that you had already been appropriately compensated. These entitlements went well beyond the point of providing you with reasonable compensation for your alleged disservice issues with our company.
I have therefore adjusted your Mileage Plus account by the 68,500 miles credited originally and by 40,000 miles for the duplicate dollar off certs you have obtained and used for your tickets. Your account is now out of audit status and available for web use.
Mr. Y, we have endeavored to address all your concerns in good faith. However, given the amount of compensation requested by you as well as our concerns about the validity of many of these, I must respectfully advise you that any future abuse will result in the closure of your Mileage Plus account and cancellation of any accruals. While it is regrettable that we have to take this position, it is necessary to preserve the integrity of the Mileage Plus program for the vast majority of the members who participate in accordance with the program rules."
Invasion of privacy? Surely the daft mare forfeited all notions of privacy by throwing a fit worthy of a testy two year old in public???
Perhaps the apology went something like "We're sorry.....you're stupid"
As for United, good on them. Good to see that someone is capable of applying the slightly un-PC maxim "the customer is not always right"
Channelling Michael O'Leary there
Her little tanty was conducted in a private place with no right or legal expectation of privacy. If it was in an office or off to the side in a corridor I might understand - but it was at the gate desk out in the terminal.
anat0l - I agree, give me a sick bag decorated in the doodling of the passenger in your seat on the previous flight (I should upload a pic of that sometime).
The video did reveal something in Cantonese....
1. Before she laid on the ground and do swimming practise on the floor one staff did told her in Cantonese that "Don't worry, we will put you on the next flight", which shows that CX did allow her to board the next plane, however she seems to have ignored the advice.
2. One thing which drives me mad about the woman is that she have two male travellers with her, during her swimming practise on the floor she said "why didn't you two get on the plane first ? if you two have got in and say I am coming they would have waited ! You two should get on first !!! " She wanted her companions to got on the plane (and delay the plane) so that she could get on !!!
This is not the first time something bad has recorded and shared over the web involving CX, sometime ago a woman on CX was filmed to be kicked off the plane by the captain because she refused to put her LV handbag under her seat or in the overhead lockers, she insisted to keep it on her lap.
