Bad vibes turn Qantas flight backA Qantas flight carrying more than one hundred passengers was forced to turn back to Brisbane last night after the pilot detected "unusual vibrations" in one engine.
Flight QF637 to Melbourne, which departed Brisbane at 7.10pm carrying 123 passengers was forced to turn around after 30 minutes when it was suspected a fire had ignited in one engine.
and, of notable interest:
lolShe also corrected an earlier Qantas statement that the Boeing 737 had four engines, instead of two, and apologised for the confusion.

"QF637" eventually arrived into MEL at 12:35am, some 2:05 later than scheduled.
The original 734 was substituted by another which operated the flight.
The aircraft that had the problem has not yet re-entered service.

I was on a V Australia flight from LAX to SYD yesterday and we were diverted to Honolulu after a woman gave birth to a baby girl onboard! She was 10 weeks premature. Had to wait 2 hours on the tarmac at Honolulu, but it was certainly interesting.
