American Airlines in talks with Continental and US Airways | Reuters
American Airlines has had early-stage merger talks with US Airways and is in advanced talks for an alliance with Continental Airlines, sources briefed on the situation said.
Obviously early days and both CO and USA are much further down the path with united.but I always wanted to go by GUM.

Then again this link has appeared on COs website so it looks like something is close.More likely to be the merger with UA.
Bloomberg is quoting the NY Times tonight, stating that UA and CO will announce their merger by May 01.
Works for me - CO has a strong presence at EWR.
