Upgrade/award class availability online

Last year flyaow.com/classavailability.htm listed the availability of the Qantas upgrade/award U class seats.
Unfortunately they cancelled this service.
Does anyone know a URL where I can check out how many award seats
are available?

Funny you should ask this now. Just today the upgrade classes have magically reappeared! I hope it doesn't go away again, but I wouldn't count on it.

For a direct link to AMEX ITN search, click here.

I was looking for availability on the qantas website not too long ago. I wanted to print out the available dates that there were FF seats on offer.
However, the page wouldnt let me print it.
In true 'never say die' fashion I decided to copy and paste the page onto Wordpad.
To my delight! when i did so, the exact numbers of the seats available popped up in the boxes.

However, it revealed me a whole new side of Qantas. At no time did i see any more than 6-8 FF seats available on a flight ( this was to NZ) and in most cases just 1 or 2.

Hope this is of help to you, I think I just stumbled onto a glitch in the system.

What is the easiest way to do an online check of availability for FF upgrade (ie: discount economy to business LHR - SYD).
I looked at the site in the first post, but was not sure as to which tool to use.

Upgrades come from the same fare bucket as award flights - so you will be looking for U class on the flights you want.

Thanks for the reply. Does it mean, if there was no U class currently listed (for a specific flight in 3 months time), then I should not bother waitlisting for upgrade on this flight. Or is it a matter of keep checking as U class may be added at any time.

No point in NOT waitlisting. As you get closer to the departure date - 3 weeks prior and again 72 hours prior from memory - they will re-evaluate the situation and make a decision as to whether or not to release more seats.

If they decide to, then they will go straight to those on the waitlist, so if you just keep checking you may never see the actual availability.
