The path to loosing status

I am currently a Gold memeber and have a trip comming up which will push me to Platinum status, but say for example, if I have no travel next year then what happens to my status in the year after

Do I get downgraded to Bronze staright away or

Do I move to Gold and then to Silver in the year after and then to Bronze in the year after? assuming no travel in these years.

Thanks

No, you will not go straight down to Bronze. QFF has 'soft landings', so you'll go Platinum to Gold, then Silver then Bronze each year.

Re: The path to loosing status

The only caveat to that might be 4 segment rule on QF that they have implemented/made a requirement. It is not clear yet that if you dont have the 4 segments whether you drop completely...

I didn't do credit 4 QF flights to QF FF and I was only dropped to Gold status from Platinum.

Then again, that may be something to do with being Lifetime Gold.

I have heard that failing to taking the 4 QF sectors will drop you back to the lowest level to which you can go , which would be bronze if holding no lifetime status

Re: The path to loosing status

I had 0 SCs last membership year with no flights credited to QF. I dropped from WP to SG (I only have LTS).

Send a message via MSN to serfty
So, from alect's experience, the answer appears to be 'a soft landing'.

Re: The path to loosing status

When I started my descent I recall getting aletter each year along the lines of

"if you let us know you are going to increase your flights with us this year, then we'll let you retain status"

I think you can milk an extra year by contacting them and saying you have talked your employer into flying Qantas again.
