I have finally received my points/SCs for the Starclass HNL-SYD. After they didn't post for a week I put in a claim and it took another two weeks for them to be posted.

I am a little surprised that the attendant systems are not more efficient between JQ and QF - follow up processing must represent quite an administrative burden!

It has left me with questions in my mind about what would happen if one was trying a last minute status run and SCs/points were posted AFTER your assessment date for a flight taken BEFORE it?

Anyway, I am now well clear of the WP re-qualification mark and have my 4 flights on JQ/QF - there may even be time to get he next 750 SCs for partner gold before end Feb 09!

In those cases anecdotes here and on FT indicate that QantasFF apply the SC's appropriately. It even appears to be automatic.

E.g.
  • A QF SG has 1390 SC's posted at the end of their "year" - missing 20 SC's from a flight taken in the 'last week.
  • the "Expired SC's" of -1390 is applied with status remaining SG.
  • A week into the new year the 20 missing SC's are posted:
    • the member's status automatically goes to WP.
    • the 20 SC's are not applied to the new "Year".

Re: Slower than normal posting of points on QFF flights?

Not only do they seem to credit the SC's to the appropriate year, but the last activity count (should the three year thing ever be an issue), is from the date the activity took place, not when it was posted.

For example, if you fly on 31AUG but not posted to 01SEP, your last activity is still August. Probably will never be an issue for people here, but...

Many thanks, Serfty and oz_mark for the clarification! I am relieved to learn that is how the system is set up!

My recent QF domestic flights all auto-posted to AA in between 2 and 7 days. In my experience, if it has not posted in a week, its not going to auto-post. But AA make you wait about 3 weeks before you can lodge an on-line claim for missing mileage credit.

I agree with the "if it hasn't posted in a week.." comment. Note, my last 2 months worth of flights have all posted within 2-3 days.

Re: Slower than normal posting of points on QFF flights?

Flew back to Sydney on a Qantaslink flight, arrived around 19:00. Points posted already: they may have been even earlier, but I didn't check.

My experience with Qantas and Qantaslink has been posting within hours, or at the most, the day after. I always ensure that my bookings have my QFF number attached, not sure if this has much to do with it.

Recent trips with AA, BA and Finnair took quite a few days to get added, despite having my QFF number in the booking (and therefore on the boarding pass). Previous experience with CX has varied, from automatic additions within a couple of days, to having to prompt them.
