    Redeem points for business class

Having accumulated over a million FF points, and retired, I would like to use them for holidays. I figure I've earnt the right to treat myself to business class to use them up.

No matter how hard I try, I can't find any business seats allocated to FF points to anywhere. The Qantas site offers two options for travel class, economy and business/first. When I work through to seat availability, I get only economy and first. I'm not about to blow all my points on first.

I'm trying to get to Alaska via Hawaii. I thought business Sydney/Hawaii would be easy. I don't mind economy if I'm awake, but if it's a red eye long haul, I like my comfort. Does anyone have any wise comments?

    Ring up 13 13 13, Option 2 and Option 1

Then speak to someone about quotes. They can access other partner airlines, and flights that you can't book online. And yes you'll be subject to 2,500 booking fee, which I don't get - if you can't book online!! I'm sure someone will find a loop hole to make them refund all the 2,500 they made me pay for some tricky flight routes

Maybe a RTW J ticket is on the cards?

For most of Alaska, you will need to fly Alaska Airlines. I don't think that you check availability on Alaska Airlines from the QANTAS Website. You should be able to check on the Alaska Airlines Website.

NB, I don't think that you can get a single award which mixes QANTAS and Alaska Airlines.

Finding a Business Class Award to LAX, SFO or JFK should be fairly straightforward.

Thanks for the suggestion. I would have thought it was 13 12 11. What is 13 13 13?

I just checked the QF website, and business seats are showing up. It looks like it's been changed.

For the cost of a few points, it's worth getting someone to sort it out for me, if it involves partner airlines.

Hey futaris, I flew SYD-LAX on QF and then LAX-YVR on AS as an award. However, found out the AS flight was a QF code share too!

On the back of my card it's 13 11 31. I'm just a lowly NB though, so that might explain the different numbers.

Interesting. I'll ring Qantas and check about Alaska airlines. They're not shown as a partner.

My FF card (platinum) shows 13 12 11. Perhaps they have a different number for the different status.

13 13 13 is the standard sales/fares/ff/qantas club number. There''s a few others but they seem to largely get you into the same queues

These days it's all the same number. You enter your FF number and the system automatically adds you to the right queue depending on status. You get the premium desk if you're a WP or above.
