Reaccommodation policy for cancelled FF flights?

With BA announcing the reduction of services, I was wondering if anyone knows what the policy is for Qantas FF bookings that are affected by a partner airline cancelling a flight?

I'm looking at using QFF points to book LHR-SHA with BA next year. If this flight is cancelled, what would QF do?

    Would QF reroute LHR-(QF)-HKG-(CX/KA)-SHA?

Or is it the responsibility of BA to sort out a solution?

    Any insight much appreciated!

Re: Reaccommodation policy for cancelled FF flights?

In 2007 I had a flight booked on BA using QFFF points and the BA flight was cancelled.

I got a call from BA who offered me a choice of airlines including TG and EK.

All the arrangements were very efficient and made via a flight cancellations centre which appeared to be operating out of a call centre in India.

The flight I was rebooked onto was made in a full fare class and miles were accrued.

Now I did ring Qantas to say that the BA flight had been cancelled and would they help reaccommodate me on a QF service (or even a JQ service) and they said 'no, not our responsibility'...

    So go figure....

Thanks MEL_traveller. Sounds like it's a fairly smooth process.

I just don't want to find myself in the situation where the miles are redeposited into my account and told "good luck, sort it out yourself"!

I had a QF Oneworld award booking in August 2007 and my BA flight from LHR-FRA was cancelled. I did not find out until checking-in for the flight and was asked to go to the ticketing desk. I was given a print out of the new flight details at the ticketing desk to take back to check-in. I was put on the next flight (~2 hours later) and allocated a seat in business class.
