My last 8 flights on QF have all been delayed by 20 minutes or more. Not good enough but unfortunately there is no viable alternative....
No viable alternative on SYD-BNE are you kidding? You wouldn't sit on a Virgin Blue flight for a whole hour and 25 minutes to send Qantas the message that 8 flights in a row delayed more than 20 minutes is not good enough? No wonder they get away with treating you they way they do.

Actually if you look at the national on-time for June, DJ was something like 79%? and QF was 68%? (from memory) which are both not very good but makes me think that actually there was more than strikes happening since DJ performed well below normal . Alot of weather obviously....
And thats not even looking at Jetstar's woeful performance - 68%! No strikes, no major problems
well on a lighter note i am traveling to BBK next Tuesday and QF can be as late as they like. OK I want to at least leave before curfew hits at 11pm, as it means more time in the F lounge thank you very much...
Sitting in BNE lounge awaiting departure of QF555 to SYD and most flights are delayed again. There is something wrong and you can't keep blaming the weather. I have sent very negative feedback to QF and again I do not expect a response.

Sure nothing can be done as this is happening across the board but the image of QF is taking a hit at the moment and late flights is not helping the image.
It is now 18:50 and I am sitting in the BNE lounge again awaiting a departure on QF555 to SYD and all flights are delayed again! My flight was due to depart at 19:45 and is now due to board at 19:50 and I expect this delay will increase even more by the time this flight is due to depart. Not really good enough.
I don't expect any response to this feedback. What can you tell me other than sorry but we are trying our best. If this is what is supposed to be called service then I feel QF has again let down their loyal customer base. If this is the type of service I provided to my customers I would not have a job.
There was a report in the last day that said that Qantas still had two - three weeks before it caught up with all the engineering work, so perhaps this is an ongoing factor.

I don't know what is causing problems but I do know that it is not good.
No further updates on the screen or from the lounge but QF551 finally took off, QF553 is still scheduled to board at 19:40, 45 minutes late, but it is now well past this time and QF555 is still scheduled to board at 19:50, 25 minutes late, an still no sign of boarding.
If QF on-time performance figures for July and August look even remotely reasonable there is definitely some fiddling of the statistics....

Hmm; wondered how your flights were going tonight, seems like late as usual no surprises there.

Saw that article as well. Surprised me, but assume it's correct.
Note also Qantas had the 737-400 re-inspections recently and some other maintenance issues that they needed to sort out, so they may have some backlog with various things.
OK so that was June and on-time performance may have been affected slightly by the weather. We are now in August and on-time performance is still poor.
Interesting while waiting for the flight to board last night the FA mentioned that the delay was due to BNE air traffic control not allowing them to land. I did mention to her that the original delay had nothing to do with BNE air traffic control and the same flight + plus many others have had delays for at least the last 3 weeks.
Anyway completed boarding around an hour late and short taxis both in BNE and SYD and with some time made up during the flight we only landed 36 minutes late. Not bad in the end but makes for a very long day when you are up at 6:30am....
