Qantas mag goes against the trend

Interesting new magazine....

Qantas mag goes against the trend | smh.com.au

Quote:
ACP Magazines is launching a magazine for Qantas frequent flyers amid questions over the future of inflight magazines as airlines look to scale back onboard publications to reduce weight because of record fuel prices.

The publisher will unveil the title, Air, this week. It plans to mail it four times a year to members of Qantas's chairman's lounge and platinum frequent flyers, who account for about 1 per cent of the airline's 5 million members.

Re: Qantas mag goes against the trend

The story about this on page 53 in todays Fin Review has 15000 CL & 25000 Plat. Seems a lot of CL to me and too few Plat. When QF were subject to the takeover higher numbers were mentioned for Plat's.

A very dubious connection between the article title and any information promoted in the body text.

Perhaps they are to be distributed via Air-Mail?

SO this would be a reduction in the 60K ISTR back in 2004 ...

(Funny, that's about the only thing of interest I find in the article ...)

Or dubious connection between the first and second paragraphs. But do you expect any better from the trashy tabloid that smh has become?

Agree CL at 15,000 sounds very high,
although remember they do appear to grant CL fairly liberally to the CLs immediate family, so you may only have 3-4k actual CLs which seems more reasonable

Re: Qantas mag goes against the trend

It would be a shame if QF did do away with the monthly in-flight mag. I actually find it a really enjoyable read - plenty of excellent restaurant/bar/event tips around Australia too.

Far better than AA's offerings.

There's no plan to do away with it at the moment.
