Qantas Club Knife

Knife as in cutlery. I've noticed on a couple of visits that Brisbane Qantas Club had those flimsy plastic knives that bend when trying to spread butter. It's a nuisance!! Sydney Qantas Club seem to have gone back to normal knives that they use in-flight, but Brisbane is still using the flimsy ones. Same with Canberra - they seem to be using the flimsy ones too (shock horror).

Do you know if it is linked to a temporary shortage of decent plastic knives, or if they have gone el-cheapo?

Re: Qantas Club Knife

I experimented on Monday at the BNE QP by attacking the bread rolls (long dead) with either two placco knives held together for improved bracing or reversing them and using the handle to apply the butter.

My back-up support when that failed was to use a spoon.

Re: Qantas Club Knife

I find the use of a QF FF card is more practical for both cutting the bread rolls and spreading the butter.

Re: Qantas Club Knife

Maybe you should suggest that QF start making their FF cards with serrated edges

Re: Qantas Club Knife

Not sure they would get through the security screening then...

And grippy sides for those who forget that it gets a bit tough to hold the card for cutting after spreading the butter.

Re: Qantas Club Knife

Hahaha, after I posted the initial post, I felt a bit embarrassed because I thought I might be the only one complaining, but glad someone else had problem buttering bread with it.

Spoon would be a good idea

I think that QF are far more advanced in their thinking than we give them credit.

I believe that is why they offer bronze, silver, gold and platinum cards, which we all know are generally non-toxic metals and may safely be used for the cutting of the titanium coated bread rolls and applying the spread of your choice, without that tangy aftertaste!

They had normal in-flight knives on Sunday.

Re: Qantas Club Knife

Canberra had the 'bendy' version, although Sydney had the normal in-flight version.
