    Preallocated exit row?

I am travelling from MEL to CBR tomorrow morning, and in OLCI this morning found that I have been allocated to an exit row (12ABC on a 734), along with the two family members I am travelling with.
I had thought previously that exit row preallocation was only for WP? I am just QPPS and am traveling with 2xNB, and it's just an X class ticket, so no explanations there.
Anyone else had this experience? It's very welcome

Maybe by the time the computer got down to allocating 3 low-status, award fare passengers, the only seats remaining were the exit rows?

I am wondering, based on other events that I am aware of, if QF is looking at new "networks of influence" for its customers? I note (from another thread) that the OP has been guested into the CL previously, and am left to wonder if this has had an impact on their "name" rather than their "frequent flyer number" in the Qantas system?

I would be interested to know if the CL, that Will knows, is a "family member"?

Of course, as NM points out, maybe Will just got lucky!?

    Re: Preallocated exit row?

This isn't preallocation as people have referred to it before. generally when people talk abut pre-allocating the exit row this is when the WP makes a request for an exit rather than just being lucky ad having is allocated ahead of time.

I an SG and had this recently when going from CBR-MEL-PER, but only on the first leg. However, it was a corporate fare so that may have helped.

Still nice when it happens though.

Reasonable thought, but there are 3-seat blocks from rows 17-24 that I can see on the OLCI seating plan.

That would be nice but he's not (yet) a relative and I am sure that the CL staff didn't take my details when I entered (I was on a separate flight to him so our bookings weren't linked either).

Sounds like the same thing has happened to
Hvr, so it's not impossible. I'm just grateful that it has happened and would like for it to be a regular occurrence

Perhaps people allocated to those rows (as single passengers) had already used OLCI to move before you viewed the seat map? Its all speculation anyway. Just accept it is good fortune and enjoy the extra space .
