New TBIT LAX QF/BA/CX First & Business Lounge Mid-2007

Finally they have recognised how poor the lounges in TBIT are and are redeveloping them... The only downside is we have to wait a whole year, but i am sure the wait will be worth it.

"New lounges for Los Angeles

From mid-2007, members with access to The Qantas Club can enjoy a new lounge experience in Los Angeles. Qantas, in partnership with Cathay Pacific and British Airways, is developing new First and Business lounges in the Tom Bradley International terminal. The new lounges will offer more space, more seating, luxury shower suites and enhanced business facilities.

From September 2006, interim lounge facilities will be available while the new lounges are under construction. The interim lounge will be outside the terminal and a shuttle will transport members to the lounge. Facilities will include seating for 500, complimentary refreshments, internet access, TV, newspapers and magazines."

For shuttle required - read unless you have a couple of hours you wont get lounge access.

Looking at doing a run across to New York for Christmas this year.

As well as more FF points, this is another reason to fly via Sydney to pick up 107 and 108 on the way back.

Re: New TBIT LAX QF/BA/CX First & Business Lounge Mid-2007

My only complaint with the current TBIT lounges are the lack of bathroom and shower facilities in the lounges (there is no suitable plumbing beyond the ends of the building where the public toilets are located) and that they can get crowded depending on the lounge and time.

I found several free wireless internet options available to me when sitting in the CX Business Class lounge and the CX First Class Lounge (Lufthansa Lounge) at TBIT last week.

But it will be nice to finally have a single lounge location for OneWorld flights instead of being spread between about 6 different small lounges (all have the same food/beverage options from what I have experienced).
