Question FF Platinum Question

Howdy

Quick question for those who are Platinum (or Gold) frequent flyers.

Could you please log in to the Qantas FF classic section and tell me if there are any available seats from SYD to PEK on 09 or 10 Aug 08 and PEK to SYD on 16 or 17 Aug 08.

I know that Platinum people have previously twisted Qantas's arm to get additional seats released. I'm just curious if there are different offerings based on your login.

Sorry I only have 76,000 points (cos I fly *A most of the time), so any seat isn't an option.

Seat counter shows lots of empty seats (and there are red-e tickets available)

Thanks

Re: FF Platinum Question

Have you tried the new Anyseat approach?

How many points are they asking for?

Re: FF Platinum Question

0 available from the 31st through to the 13th SYD-PEK
0 available from the 15th through to the 19th PEK-SYD

I suspect a small gathering in China called the Olympics may be the cause of a lack of FF seats.

Interesting - there is a small difference.

I see

To: 15th, 17th-25th (No 14th)
From 6-14th & 20-21st (No 15th but a 21st)

Any further bids?

And a minimum of 72,000 from + 110,000 to (almost triple) for the any seat.

Thanks

Re: FF Platinum Question

Back again, yes a little bull at a gate with this.

I'm a bit annoyed at Qantas's inflexible attitude towards this. I can buy a bargain basement sale fare (cheaper than red e-deal by $500) and a source informs me they have over 100 empty seats. Surely when the plane is that empty and they decide to have a fire sale, they can release more seats. (The person on the phone was rather blunt with her 'no')

I dont have enough points for any seat and I can't combine an award flight with a normal booking (unless I want to pay $1600 one way).

Could a WP please check for SYD-PEK on the 10th August. I am positive status can give you what you want.

(Yes I know I am being fussy. I will give up and book monday the 11th shortly - my bronze log in shows 11th and 18th-25th & 27th).

Re: FF Platinum Question

Well, a huge big THANK YOU to whomever fixed this problem for me.

Yes it could be the sun and the moon aligning, but I suddenly have found a ticket available for the exact dates I wanted. And this was after a minor panic that the 11th just disappeared.

Very happy now. Booked the flight for $347.

May I never say a bad thing about Qantas again.
