Earning points on AA - American Eagle

I am about to book a cheap AA flight operated by American Eagle.

I know American Eagle is a subsidiary of AA, but just wondering whether this fare is likely to be eligible for points with QFF?

Cheers

From the terms and conditions it would appear that if it has an AA flight number it should accrue points.

But I may be terribly, terribly wrong!!

No MetroAir, you are not wrong. You are correct.

American Eagle is just like QantasLink from a OneWorld and parent airline relationship.

AE flights are single class. You earn just like any other AA economy class flight. Only Y is full economy SCs, all else is discount economy SCs. You also earn the Status Bonus per AA/BA/QF flights.

Yes, I suspected that it would be treated as discount economy, but just not sure whether the deep-discount online fares are eligible.

I know with Aer Lingus, the cheap online fares do not earn points.

I (think) it's an S class fare, but I'm not sure. If it is S, then it will earn.

Does anyone know about the 500 point upgrades offered by AA Advantage?

If it is S class, then you get 0.5 QF FF points/mile flown.

Check out the QF Airline Earning Tables. Scroll down to AA and check your fare basis.

Note that table specifies fares as economy or discount economy for the purposes of FF points earning, and not for the purpose of SC earning. The definition of "discount" is different for SC earning.
