Early Op-Up

I booked a Y+ (T) fare ex SIN last week for my return to MEL (QF10) and was looking forward to sampling Premium Y for the first time this weekend.

An email from QF landed in my inbox this morning which I paid scant regard to until now.

Very surprised to see that my booking is now showing I class, so I have been op'd up very early for this flight .

I had trouble getting T class when I booked, so it looks like a pretty full load.

Thanks QF.

I have been pre-allocated a lower deck D seat and EF is currently showing 1 spare UD A seat. Now to decide if I should take the window seat for my first UD experience.

This makes sense. The 744 currently in MNL was the first Qantas aircraft to get Y+ - so Qantas are down 1 of these 4 class configs.

Re: Early Op-Up

Hi Shano, I am on the same flight on Sat night and got an op-up to J class as well. I am trying to get my colleague who also got an op-up to sit next to me but am struggling. I hope to meet up with you on Sat night in F lounge. It would be nice to meet another frequent flyer forum member. Even though the F lounge is SIN is nowhere as good as MEL or SYD, it is still cosy. Sometimes I prefer the J lounge in SIN, depending on the amount of people there but on Sat I will be in F as I will be taking a colleague in. Have to find a way that we can meet up to say hello.

Re: Early Op-Up

Wow you guys are luck being bumped up to Business...

I was on the QF1 BKK-LHR 28JUN which was around 6 hours late - they used a 744ER with no Y+ and the pax were downgraded to Y...bit of a scene at the gate with furious pax...

QF1 is marketed as having a Y+ product...

I think it also depends on your status...I had some clients who a QF Platinum and their T class was changed to I...they also got the J class points and status credits as well - which is a bonus!
