I think this has been answrered before but not sure where.
I have flight SYD-BNE (domestic) and BNE-SIN (international). I think I can check the luggage through to from SYD-SIN but I need to clear customs and immigration in BNE. Can I get forward boarding passes issued in SYD? Not a great deal as I have about 5 hours to kill in BNE before flight to SIN.
In April I am flying SYD-ADL (Domestic) arriving in ADL at 10:00 and then ADL-DRW (International) on QF81 departing 11:10am, and on seperate ticket DRW-SIN again on QF81. Same seat allocated through from ADL-SIN but issued on different tickets, one is a paid ticket and the other is award ticket. Again I assume I can check luggage through from SYD-SIN but I need to clear customs and immigration in ADL. Can I get forward boarding passes issued in SYD?
Connection in ADL is a little tight. How far from terminal D to terminal I in ADL? The other problem is because ADL-DRW-SIN is issued on 2 different tickets do I have to check-in again in DRW or can I be treated as a transit passenger?
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I apologise if I am asking something that has been answered before.

I did MEL-SYD domestic, then SYD-SIN, earlier this year. Baggage was checked throught to SIN, and the SYD-SIN boarding pass was issued in MEL as well. So not to worry.
( I like the SYD T3 to T1 transfers... great view of the aircraft hangers!)

If you are travelling outbound, you bags will be checked in at SYD and collected in SIN. If the flight SYD-BNE is QF400+ you will arrive at BNE domestic, use the free train to transfer, and clear outbound immigration at BNE International terminal. If SYD-BNE is less than QF399 then you do all at SYD.

Yes, luggage check in at SYD and collected at SIN. You clear outbound immigration at ADL and remain in airside transit at DRW.

If you have the tickets in your possession (or e-ticket receipt/itinerary) when you check in at SYD, the check-in agent will give you boarding passes for all segments and no need to visit any desk in ADL or DRW

Both SYD-BNE and SYD-ADL are domestic QF400+. BNE is no problem due to 5 hour transit.

Dont know about the new ADL terminal, but the old ones are about 10 minutes walk apart and a bit of an obstacle course due to the roadworks. Early this year I did the antarctic overflight which used international. It was a little late returning and so I needed to run to domestic to try to make my flight - alas missed it. If new terminal is being used it should be much quicker.
70 minutes should be okay as long as inbound isnt too delayed. If first flight is delayed I wouldnt want to have checked bags as there is more chance of you making the connection than your bags.
Should be able to get bags checked all the way through despite separate tickets - need to show your onward ticket though.
As for onward BP on separate tickets - I've had mixed luck with this. Ask but be prepared to need to get them at the connection points. Is ADL-DRW on same ticket as SYD-ADL? If not then 70 minutes may not work if cant get BP issued in SYD (when does check in close for international flights?). If same ticket then wont be an issue unless first flight is late. The separate ticket DRW-SIN is less of an issue since if inbound is late so will the outbound - ie there should be enough time to pick up BP in DRW (at Qantas Club or transfer desk if there is one) if you cant get it earlier.

By the way this is booked straight off the Qantas website. Just have to hope that everything runs on time and my bags & I make the ADL-DRW-SIN flight.

That shows the system, the check-in agents and anyone else looking at your itinerary that you have connections. And that way if you are delayed on one sector Qantas will already be aware of your situation and make suitable arrangements to minimise the disruption for the connections.

JohnK - the new terminal in Adelaide will combine domestic and international in the one building, so if it is opened by then your transfer should be relatively easy.
EDIT: I just found some information about the problems at Adelaide Airport - click here. It seems that there is still a way to go before domestic flights begin using the terminal.

Thanks Peter. Might have a new pope before the new ADL terminal is opened. Apparently it is only 10 minutes from domestic to international so no real dramas there.
My only problem will be if SYD-ADL is running late and my luggage or me do not make the connection to ADL-SRW-SIN.
