There's an article in today's Australian (Frequent flyer float may be grounded | The Australian) discussing the implications of the global financial crisis on the mooted IPO of the Qantas Frequent Flyers program.

Probably a good thing for those of us who like our "flyer status".

I imagine that once ownership changes; there will be a bit of pressure brought to bear on "recognising" those FF members who bring in the most points, from any means, not just flying!

Given the uncertainty of the financial crisis this sounds like a great idea. Either way my guess would be a privatised, stand alone, QFF program is not going to be of any benefit to the frequent flyer....
