OK - so your wife wont let you go on holidays unless she is with you? So if someone offered you a free flight you would have to make it a condition that your wife could travel with you - so your wife is asking for a benefit that was not extended to her.

Seriously we waste a massive amount of taxpayers time arguing crap like this in Parliament - this should not even be a question for people who are that senior. They should know what could be perceived to be bad and avoid it. They chose to be in public office and should know that comes with limitations and benefits (CL membership for some).

Does anyone actually think Qantas was trying to influence the Vic police to use Qf more? Would she even be involved in such low level procurements?

It is just The Age and 3AW running a political campaign against her.

Sure she can take holidays, but you do it in a way that doesn't bring complications to your job. and her job is in the public service and in the spotlight.

It's got nothing to do with "procurements". It's to do with the fact pf her saying time and time again against serving members accepting freebies and not being impartial. She broke her own rule!

Actually in Melbourne most people think she did the wrong thing. Even former police commissioners say she did. It also comes on top of her possibly interfering with Ben Cousins going to Collingwood.

I say to her practice what you preach.
