"I drink it when I'm happy and when I'm sad. Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I'm not hungry and I drink it when I am. Otherwise I never touch it, unless I'm thirsty." Lily Bollinger on champagne

Did you attempt to strangle him with a plastic bag so that he could find a legitimate reason for wanting to ban them? Good singer, poor political choice

Pete Sampras with current girlfriend on the bus taking us out to board the QF flight to Mel from LAX TBIT. This was some years ago before he got married and while he was still playing professionally, I think he may well have been No. 1 at the time. They were strap hanging in the bus along with the rest of us and canoodling as well! I can't remember what time of year it was, maybe he was coming out to play the open.
Didn't see him again once we boarded, no doubt he was up the pointy end.

Saw Jamie Oliver in the F lounge in Singapore a couple of years back when he was flying to Australia for his restaurant show. Delta in the QP in Sydney. Sophie Monk sat in the seat behind me from LA. Lots of politicians (some even in Y) when flying to/from Canberra. Plenty of footballers etc.

On a trip to BNE in June I saw Geoffrey Robertson in the QC in SYD (he was in the bookshop looking for books he'd written I think).
On my return trip I stood at the baggage carousel with some short dude with a weird beard. A minder came up and started chatting with him - I recognised him as a 15 minute of famer - the guy who won "So you think you can dance" - still flies Y. Mrs Warks a big fan of show otherwise I'd never have known. In a year's time no one will probably recognise him!

When I do AKL-SYD-AKL over the Christmas/NY period I've found I'm usually on with all the kiwi league players going back to see their families too...Benji, Sonny Bill were both on my exact flights to/from last year. I got op-ups both ways however . The SYD-AKL leg myself and John Mitchell (Western Force coach) were the only two op-up'd at the gate.
The trans-tasman route is also chocka with Wallabies at this time of year too....all of whom smash the food and softdrink in the QP.
NRL teams on the SYD-AKL leg also get stuck into their tucka. Steve Menzies once nailed three Y meals on one leg...on the way to AKL to play...
The NRL ref's (dressed in their tracksuits) don't seem to be too impressed on the Red-e-deal 1630 or 1830 SYD-AKL on Fridays.
SYD-MEL the afternoon of the loogies was also a flight full of known people including Fatty Vautin, Matty Johns, Laurie Daily and Rosso (Nova969 Host).
Others I've seen include Ray Meager (Alf off Home and Away and ex-Wallaby), the Black Eyed Peas, Rafael Nadal (after getting 2nd in AKL about four years ago).
And a couple of months ago I checked in beside Harry Kewell at the J counter. He was only back in SYD for a couple of days to see his Dr. re: his knee. He was on QF to SIN then SQ to LHR. He had a golf putter which he wanted to take as hand luggage and the CSA said he wasn't allowed. His manager (who wasn't flying) was kicking up a fuss. I don't think she knew who he was as he had no status on his booking and when he enquired he had to hunt around for his QF card.
