Re: D-Day 8 Oct for Ezy Mastercard

You did well. We tried to get last 4490 points transferred when we cancelled card. After several arguments they transferred 4000 points (to 2000 FF points). (We're supposed to be grateful because normally 5000 minimum transfer.)
Didn't try to argue for full 1:1 transfer - didn't think we'd have a leg to stand on.
Decided the last 490 points weren't worth fighting for. I like to fight for principles, but I must be getting too old.

Re: D-Day 8 Oct for Ezy Mastercard

Actually they didn't give me all the points, I had 7602 rewards points and they gave me 7500 FF.

I'm retired so plenty of time to pursue things like this. I thought there was a pretty strong case to take to BFSO and CBA must have thought so too. They might have been told to give everyone all those points. I've seen in the press that one of CBA's problems is customer service and I now see why. More the kind of treatment you expect from a shonky fly by night than 1 of the big 4.

According to this mornings AFR, there were only ever 13,000 of these cards ever issued. Not surprising that it got pulled. Anyway, will have to wait and see what Woolworths comes up with in their new plans.

Re: D-Day 8 Oct for Ezy Mastercard

Sorry to resurrect the thread but after learning of ezy mastercards demise on this site , I transferred my points to QFF and got a free citibank gold and qantas american express.
Eventually went to cancel the old card which had been reissued by CBA and the CSO asked if they could convince me to stay.
I said I would stay if they offered me a free Platinum card, he went away and said sorry can't do.
Lo and behold in the mail today is a free invitation for upgrade to a platinum MC which I am assuming will also include a free card for my wife(T&C seem to confirm this)
Anybody else had this or a similar offer?
Any better deals around?

When he said he couldn't offer you the Platinum card, what did you say? Did you say to go ahead and cancel it? Then then you later get the invitation? Or did you not cancel it at the time?

Re: D-Day 8 Oct for Ezy Mastercard

Hi One9,
I tried to cancel there and then but had some outstanding balance to pay
The date on the letter was the next day so this must have triggered the invitation
