Re: D-Day 8 Oct for Ezy Mastercard

[quote=QFTravel]Damn,

It took me 3 months to get this card earlier this year and I'm only going to get 6 months use out of it until it goes. Transfers have to done in doses of 1000 points right? quote]

Does this mean if I have 1555 points I can only transfer 1000 of them?
I would have thought it would be minimum of 1000. Anyone know for sure?

No, you need a minimum of 3600 points before they will allow ANY transfers to QFF points. If you have the minimum 3600 you can convert any amount in multiples of 500 points. But if you only have 1555 points, then you're out of luck.

Re: D-Day 8 Oct for Ezy Mastercard

Thanks beardoc, I have more than 3600 points (just used 1555 as an example) but now I will have to set up a spreadsheet to get points close to multiples of 500.

Shame the bank didn't allow all remaining points to be transferred, good customer relations and surely low cost to them.

I was considering staying on because of the low annual fee, but the "point pinching" of existing points really annoys me. Now I think I'll keep looking for an alternative.

Re: D-Day 8 Oct for Ezy Mastercard

I applied for a ANZ Gold Visa last Thursday shortly after I received the letter from CBA about the changes to the Ezy Card, and the ANZ card arrived in the mail today so activated it and cancelled the Ezy Mastercard.

I am not worried about 2500 cap on the points with the ANZ card because I only use this as a back up when Amex is not accepted. I believe it is slighter dearer than other cards with the $95 pa plus the $55 rewards program fee, but I had this card previously and was happy, plus they also gave me 10K points as they classified me as a new card holder, which is even better.

I notice everyone refers to 8 Oct as D-Day however in my letter it says
You can earn and redeem your points under the Ezy Rewards program until 6 October 2006.

Re: D-Day 8 Oct for Ezy Mastercard

Just got my Ezy Mastercard letter too :-(

So, what is the best remaining card for a low-medium spend person ($3000 per month or so)? The Citibank Silver card mentioned in this thread sounds pretty good - any others?

Cheers,
Matt

Are there any Visa or Mastercards out there with NO points cap and at least a 1:1 for FF points?

Refer to this thread, http://www.frequentflyer.com.au/comm...ning-7626.html, where we have been discussing suitable replacements for our EzyBanking MC's.

What's the last realistic points earning date?

OK, so I've got to earn points, get them credited to my points balance, and get them transferred by the 6th of October.

I haven't really figured out the earning/transfer cycle - though I've got a feeling that the points are available to transfer approximately 2 days after the statement date.

Does anyone have better knowledge of when the Ezy Mastercard points earned during a statement cycle are available to transfer to QF? I don't want to transfer early, and end up with < 3,600 points approaching Oct 6th.

Plus, I don't want to panic and try to change Direct Debits occuring in early Sept if I'll get those points.
