still outragoeus, but im gonna go DJ, so i get my 50 dollar refund back, so its only gonna cost me 120 each way.
and add train expenses, then bus expenses
NOT SO MUCH OF A CHEAP HOLIDAY
what happens if Tiger do start flying next week? You may not get your money back from them as you would be a no show, so I would probably call them and ask what the deal is befofe booking more flights
naaaa im not booking flights UNTIL they sayd "sorry, but we are only going to give you a refund, and i will book quickly then (i might call them after they announce a delayed launched and see if they can offer me a transfer), and then book fast casue if Dj or JQ find out they will put there prices up becuase they are barstards
i know they COULD recive approval, but i must say, Viva macua didsn't, DJ didn't and its too close to the start up date they wont
oh no im flyin JQ on the way back (got 39 fares!!)
anyway, they better get approval!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Qantas usually comes to the rescue in these situtaions were there are tens of thousands of stranded passengers

Not sure this would be a stranding. But at the moment, all we know is that it might be delayed. And if it is, we do not know how the situation will be addressed. They may reaccomodate you on other carriers, or they may refund. I am sure Tiger have a contigency plan, we just don't know what it is.

I actually think you all should be allright, even if Tiger is grounded it would be a PR DISASTER for them just to abandon their passengers. They won't do it.
I bet you that they will pay and organise to get you on QF/JQ/whatever flights (Kind of like when all Ozjets old planes kept on breaking down).
Even when DJ had a few hiccups at the start they put people on QF flights rather than losing a customer for life.
so peoples, the chnace that there gonna get approval is about 100-1, AND I need to travel on these dates, so they wouldn't offer a transfer would they to DJ etc..., wouldnt consumer laws protect me
I am sorry if this sounds rude but you booked flights on an unproven LCC and you have to travel on these dates! Good luck and I hope Tiger is ready to fly when you need to travel.

Tiger may get my business soon if I really feel desperate. Their schedules from Australia to SE Asia are poor and there is not a great deal of saving on airfares anyway. Flights within SE Asia look reasonable and are relatively cheap.

If for whatever reason Tiger don't fly I doubt QF will come to the rescue.
I think it is more likely JQ qould offer to match the fare you had paid orginally or something like that.... that way you stillg et to fly & JQ gets some PR

Have you contacted Tiger to get an update?

Correct and this only goes to show that when dealing with a Government department you should allow a lot more time than you believe necessary.

... and your point is Do you really expect one LCC to be much different to another LCC
Interesting thing is that Tiger are still selling tickets for 24th Nov.
