note there are no direct flights between EZE and LAX using OneWorld. AA will route you via DFW, MIA or JFK and LAN will route you via LIM or SCL.

Yes... I have done LAN via LIM to SCL to EZE once before. It's a bloody long trip. But either way you go... it is worth the trip to see beautiful Buenos Aires.

Re: The Future for the Qantas 747

Slightly back on track..the future of the 747-400s could well be back on PER and sooner than U think.QF has shown a real willingness to shuffle fleet units around subject to world shocks...think Birdflu/Asian meltdown...post Sep11 (ie AN collapse)..if the current financial crisis gets worse QF would likely retire old 747s as A380 come online 1 for 1 and possible put 2-3 on longhaul Dom routes to retire 767s whilst waiting another 2-3 yrs for 787s..The A330s would replace 767s on the eastcoast..upgrades the product pretty quickly with little cost against DJ trying to go further upmarket.Adds lots more J seats back onto PER and would give QF the flexibility to play with Price whilst offering Skybed.More pressure back on any upgrade to PY they may have in mind. Both those changes allow adding seats without adding frequency ...I may have had a couple of Becks this arvo buts its not as crazy as it sounds...
also on VA 777s on transcons..its a very good idea but causes all sorts of "Product issues" for DJ..They would be better doing SYD-PER-JNB rtn which then helps take some of the pressure off on getting enough rev from SYD JNB soley to make a profit..definitely time for another Becks now
