OK, I understand that this will be a tricky question, so for those out in cyberspace who don't understand the question - its when you pay for the flight... not by points but by cold hard cash.... your cash, not the companies or your wifes (mind you I dont mind spending Mrs! stash)....
"I drink it when I'm happy and when I'm sad. Sometimes I drink it when I'm alone. When I have company I consider it obligatory. I trifle with it if I'm not hungry and I drink it when I am. Otherwise I never touch it, unless I'm thirsty." Lily Bollinger on champagne
I like the benefits of status i.e. the QC and the good seat. I've always been treated well by QF and will continue to use my money for a product that suits me.

Re: Simple Question....
While I prefer Qantas, price does come into it. I value the "Qantas Difference" at certain amounts (based on where I am with requal for Qantas Plat, times of flights etc), and happily fly other carriers at times.
QF here. But its too hard to separate Points/Cash. I fly QF because I earn points then use them for upgrades/rewards. Also I am running a 100% exit row+spare seat/entire row to myself and don't want to annoy the QF gods

Not such a simple answer. My airline of choice is definitely QF for both domestic and international. I will look at Virgin if the price difference is significant. I will as much as possible choose QF until I maintain status for the membership year and then it is a free for all.

Re: Simple Question....
Hmmm... It seems i am the only Virgin person here. For me i fly 80% for work so the other 20% i prefer to fly Virgin for the status but having said that i will quite happily pay a little extra for QF - having said that there is a limit!
