Just a minor incident I believe - no more detail available at the moment.
I can just see the newspapers next week:
Qantas pilots hailed as heroes
"After aborting a landing that would have surely killed 300 passengers due to fog, Qantas pilots are being hailed as heroes.
A Qantas spokesman explained that a "go-around" is infact quite routine if the landing approach is slightly off, however we interviewed one passenger who was sure they were about to die...................."
hehe the whole media reporting on Qantas is getting a tad rediculous.
next they will be reporting about qantas safety if a flight attendant breaks wind.

HUNDREDS AT RISK IN QANTAS NEAR MISS
Hundreds of passengers had a brush with tragedy tomorrow ehn their Qantas Airbus 749 aircraft only just made it to the ground. The plane, said to be as much as a year old, nearly missed the ground as it came in to land.
I kid you not, I turned on the television on Monday night, and it was either 7 or 10 that led their late night news with a story that QF73 to San Francisco had been delayed for 7 hours. Did anyone else see this?
If every QF plane delay at the moment was reported, there wouldn't be time for any other "news" .... obviously it was a SYD (or BNE - but that's unlikely) sourced news otherwise they would have led with Didak/Shaw ..... which is about as newsworthy.

Better though than 9 leading their news service with a Sam Newman story which has happened at least 3 times recently...good grief
