When will Qantas do something about the food in the QC ?
The standard and quantity is getting worse (particularly in SYD).
Those tiny rolls, that soup they never seem to vary, they don't seem to replenish what is on offer ... a few pickles, a bit of ham ...
I know it's not a restaurant, but I mean, why not just go for more and better cheese and crackers and forget attempting anything more substantial - and start the bar service at midday.
Thank god for hot breakfasts in J class (except for the toast, which is always cr*p)

No, but spoke to the Customer service Representative on the 'phone.
Explained that in SYD QC last Saturday afternoon, the old bain marie was looking pretty sorry.
Said he was "sorry to hear that", but it was flat out, because of the delays to aircraft due to smoke in Melbourne.
Why would the catering staff have anything to do with that - or did he mean there were more people in the QC than normal for a Saturday. Didn't seem overly packed to me.
Anyway, had a nice Peking Duck salad and a three glasses of pretty good Semillon in J on the flight home.
I guess it must have been earlier in the day that the delayed people had impersonated gannets.
The thing is though that the quality is more the issue than the quantity.
Interesting thought - we alkl rave about the Pier in HKG - but that is an Int'l lounge. It does blow away the SYD Int'l lounges but I guess shouldnt be compared to teh domestc QP...
I know I only have complimentary membership by being Gold but I don't expect too much in the way of catering anyway. A salad, a sandwich, a roll, just something to nibble on.
The alcohol service should start much earlier than 1:00pm. When I am on holidays I love to have a beer early in the morning. In SYD I just go to Bar Roma and have a beer, in other airports I find a bar/cafe that sells alcohol.

Geez JohnK, if I didn't know you better I'd say you were an alcoholic! Many of your posts that I read are always commenting about lack of beer in the mornings! :P

In Australia where you get a meal onboard I agree not much is needed. Different story in NZ where you get very little onboard - 2-3 bites if you are lucky. In NZ there is a need for more food in the lounge. NZ does this very well, QF is okay but could do better.

Sounds like you need to fly out of airports/terminals where it is self serve
Given Qantas' recent enhancements to scheduling of meal times this should be countered by some improvement to both quantity and quality of food on offer in QC.

Alcoholic! Far from it. I really don't drink very often unless I am socialising.
Always after a game of golf. Most times before/during a flight, mainly for relaxation as I am claustrophobic, when I am holidaying.
