Re: The "New" Sydney Hilton. Recent stay report: LONG!

If you can wait until next week I can update with some info on the HIlton Metropole on Edgware road - I have two stays coming there next week (one for 2 days and one for 2 weeks).

I am a lowly blue at the moment bu might be Diamond by the time i get home (I have stays in the Hiton Arc De Triomph and Doubletree in NY as well coming up).

Have to agree with you on that point, wine traveller. My wife's favourite European city and we were upgraded to Exec Floor for our 3 day stay. Excellent Club lounge with vast array on offer. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Now, how to get over there again

Back on topic, I still haven't stayed at the Hilton SYD. Nothing could get me to stay there when I have the Crowne Plaza Darling Harbour, Sheraton on the Park as well as the Westin.

As a Diamond member, I was very well treated at the Paddington Hilton. Their exec rooms are huge compared with most London properties. Even when using points for an award stay I was given two huge adjoining rooms.

Note that the Paddington Hilton only permits Diamond members to have exec lounge access since the lounge is of limited size, so its not a good place for Gold member stays. But as a Diamond member it is very nice. And of course its very well connected to LHR via the Heathrow Express.
